5.4 engine sound
have the 5.4 in my 2000 f250 just bought it with 80k miles on it and i notice now that the engine has a very low diesel sounding growl to it.(not so much like piston knock) is this normal or do you think a problem?

If its not normal there a lot of them out there that make the same noise. I finally gave up trying to fix mine. I think Ford decided that it is the way the y-pipe is designed. There is a TSB out for it but everyone I talked to on here says it doesn't work. I have listened to mine while at idle and can definitely hear it at the y-pipe with a mechanics stethiscope.
