I don't know if this is even worth it, but does anyone know if its possible to replace the driver's side retaining hook for the floor mats of a 98 Expy.
I don't think I even need the hook with the stock mats as they grip the carpet pretty well. But I got these catchAll mats, and without that hook, the driver's side mat kinda slide around. So, does anyone know how to replace it?
If you're talking about REMOVING it...it should just back out like a screw - turning it counter-clockwise. As for WHERE to find a replacement, other than Ford, I'm not sure where you'd get one.
Thanks Elder,
Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I figured out how to remove it. Its a clip that wraps around two slits in the carpet and then locks closed. I guess I have to order one from Ford. Thanks for your reply.
gosh, won't a "stealership" likely want an arm and a leg for this? why not look for one in a wreck yard? likely donor candidates would be f-150's, navigators in addition to expy's. if it comes out that easily.....?????
lakeside, the 'stealer' would probably charge an arm and a leg for it. Only thing is I mangles up the other one while trying to take it out, don't know if I might not do it again, but it might be worth a shot. I guess I'll try to make some calls tomorrow.
