I was given a pair of KC Highliters from my girlfriend for valentines day. I tried to install them directly into my bumper, but the angle of my bumper made the lights point down too much. So now I have been looking for a push bar or grille guard for my truck. I have called all the local shops around town and only one had a product for the 87-91 years and it was one of the $120 drill into the bumper POSs. Does anyone make a bolt-to-frame grille guard for a 1990 Big Bronco? if anyone could help me i would appreciate it.
I bought this on sale for $69.99 two years ago. I was very impressed with the quality. I just cleaned the first signs of surface rust on the welds last week! These are designed for bumpers with the rubber insert and do have light mounts.
I've got a prerunner style bar on my 89. Picked it up at ORW
(offroadwarehouse.com I think) -they're down in San Diego. Real
easy install - about $120.00, can be UPS, comes with light tabs.
Get it black or order it unpainted.
I happen to like the look better than the grill gaurds with the flat
plate side pieces.

i know that looks nice but its not strong. you hit anything with it an its toast. but it does hold lights right

Thats true. But a lot of the other styles of grill gaurds just fold right back
into the grill if you hit something with them. Short of doing a regular
pre-runner bumper thats fully welded and frame mounted, not a lot
you can do....
I've mounted a piece of 3 1/2" od X .318 wall steel tube between the
frame rails behind the front bumper.... makes for a nice bumper
Lets face it, the factory bumper is not all that strong to begin with, relatively speaking....
jcwhitney sells that same type for half that price. spending alot of money on a bumper that had no strength to it is a waste. you can find those cheaper or look for a welder guy near you and have a real bumper made. email me if you want to know about some guys that make good bumpers for under 400 bucks

Yes I like your prerunner style bar. I looked at your gallery. What diameter is the tubing on that bar?
I have the grill guard type bumper, and rearended a truck. It bent back into the grill as the bumper twisted up. Ended up doing more damage than if I hadn't had it. Probably wouldv'e limited damage to the bumper.
I'll never get another one. I'm lookign for heavy-duty bumpers now. Like a Warn Enforcer or an ARB bullbar style.
a Warn enforcer is pretty weak to just to let ya know. they dent easily, which you can see real easily. if you want a real bumper have someone build you one. arb,and those others cost way to much for what they are.
I love Google... I found this thread looking for a Brush Guard for my F250....
I recently acquired(traded my old AC225-S) a Lincoln SP100 Mig welder that I ABSO-FRIGGIN-LUTLEY LOVE!!!!!!!
If 1 of you in the Columbus, OH area are willing to provide the steel for 2 bumpers I would be willing to build 1 for you (Or assist you in building 1 by providing the Equipment) I have cut off wheels and grinders and torches (I think at present I am almost out of O2 though)... more or less everything needed for a full fab shop.... PM me if interested.
I also am on the hunt for either a set of OEM F350 4x4 Front Leaf springs Or a set with a 2-3 inch lift in them.... I have rear blocks and a panhard drop bracket from when I bought my Dana 60 back in 2007...just dunno if I actually want to do the lift yet. It almost sits too high now LOL.
I have actually been debating for a while of getting into custom fab work on these trucks because NOBODY makes any aftermarket parts for the 87-91 body F-series trucks.
I am looking at possibly Custom Bumpers, Step Bars, Grill Guards(JC Whitney don't even carry them anymore), and maybe even differential cover guards.
