Anyone here have or know of someone who have used one of these specialized bathtubs with the access door? You know, the tub avertised in AAA Travel magizine. It's the tub that's about 30 inches tall with the inward swing door that is suppose to keep the water out when filled. I was thinking of getting one, but have the fear of having 50 gallons of water meet my oak floor.
I am currently researching these for my boss and they look like they work very well. There are only three companies I can find in the US and they start at least 4,000 w/o installation. She is going to get one for her mom. If you are interested I will let you know the process when it happens. I did a search on walk-in tubs and came up w/ the 3 companies.
Here's the company that's likely makeing the tub you saw in the ad.
I checked their site but didn't find any reference to that particular tub, but if you can contact them direct, I'm sure you'll be seeing a better price directly from the manufacturer. There's been problems with the door reliability in the past, but never did it leak to the outside. There's a built in drain in the jamb that handles any leakage. Chortl
I havn't posted on this site before, so the folks in charge won't let me add links so you can look it up yourself if you are interested. Their name is
