I own an 04 Reg. Cab 4.6L F- 150 and would like to add some lighting to the cab via the dome light. I was thinking about a couple of light strips under the dash in front of both the driver and passenger seats. How would i go about doing this so that they would work as if they were the dome lights? I was thinking 3 lighting strips total... any help would be appreciated!
If the light strips have fairly small light bulbs(I have seen some that look like christmas tree bulbs), then it should not overload the domelight circuit if you just tied in parallel to the lights you have. I am assuming you already have some courtesy lights under the dash already?
Actually, i dont currently have any lighting other than the stock dome light. The lights I were thinking about are either three 4'' neon tubes or these eurolite 8 led firelights i found on the stylinconcepts website. Is that possbile or would it become overloaded? And could I simply splce into the wiring or should I tkae another route? Thanks!
If the new lights draw a couple of amps or less, I would think it would work ok. If you don't have any underdash lights, see what color the wires are that feed the domelight, and then try to pick them up over at the driver's side kickpanel. I think that is where the wiring would run.(along the driver's side sill panel).
