engine swap
I own a 90 ranger 4x4 that has a 2.9 EFI. I would like to put in the next size up or put in another 2.9 that has a little bit more get up an go. I need some ideas on what to do. Thanks for the help

well, you would be looking at the 4.0 or the 3.8, the 4.0 would be an easier swap, but its from a little later ranger truck. You would need to wiring harness and the computer from the later truck and it would be difficult to do. I would say to just freshen up the 2.9, those were some pretty tough motors, they ran hard from my expiriences.

if your gonna go to the trouble to do an engine swap on a ranger put a 5.0 in it.... once im done restoring mine.... which i'm just about to start :P i will most likley drop in a 302.... they fit nicley visit the ranger station.... they will have all the info you need
