If you want to take the fan off first, then you need a special wrench, but I just took mine off w/ the radiator fan still on it. You will just need to watch ou for the radiator.
There are 14 bolts (at least on mine) that are 12mm I think, and arent torqued very tight. The pump & housing arent light, so just dont let them fall into the rad.

nothing to it just put one on mine about a month a go make sure you keep the top 2 bolts seperate there shorter than the rest so they don't hit the gear that drives your injection pump. I used a chain wrench pair of vise grips to hold the pulley and big pair of channel locks to take the fan off. only took about an hour.
