66 drums wanted
Hey guys, I bought a 66 from the original family about 3 weeks ago for 900 bucks. NO RUST anywhere. Well, I was going to check the front brakes to see how good they were and all the studs had like a flange of some type holding the drum on. I have seen the lock washer that holds these on but, these were actually part of the stud itself. I had to knock all the studs out to brake off this flange. Pretty weird. Well, This said to me that the brakes were never serviced. I was right, the drums are almost nonexistant and I am needing a set for the front. They measure 11 1/4 on the inside and the center is 3 1/2 inches that goes around the spindle.

There aviable thru most auto parts stores and alot of reproduction companies; need to ensure you purschase base off your serial number; some 66 drums pop off and others you have to remove by your spindle bearings.

Thanks for the info, I just went to "autozone" if you call that a parts store. They actually were the only ones that had a set of drums. GRR....They were 38 dollars a piece. Oreilly had them for 64 dollars a piece and the pep boy's had them for 80 dollars a piece, but these poeple(oreilly and pep boys) had to special order them. THANKS
