Michelin Plus 80 radials ????

Has anyone heard of these tires? Are they an old series tire? Are they any good?I've searched the web about them and have come up blank. I know of a set sitting in a friend's garage, 225/75/R15, and was curious to see if they would be all right for my truck.

How Old are the tires? By the D.O.T. numbers there should be three ? numbers burnes into the sidewall telliing you how old they are. Example 205 would be the 20th week of 2005 or something like that.Personally I would not want anything that was more then a few years old (over 4) I think that these particular michelins were a Sears/NTB/NTW exclusive line a few year back 4 plus years or so and a High Mileage tire with a tight tread pattern. As always read the weight rating and make sure that they will be with in what your needs are for load carrying capacity.

33PPP is correct about the date stamp. To determine the age of the tire look on the sidewall. There will be a group of 3 numbers. The first two are the week the tire was made and the last will be the year. I'll see what I can find out about age recommendations. I've had the same tires on some of my trucks a long time.

Thanks for the replies. If they are 4 + yrs old, then they can sit there for another 4 or more. They do look like they have never been mounted, but I think I'll keep my cash (and my friend !). Thanks again....
