Whenever I go through a carwash or it rains, the carpet in the cargo area towards the back is wet. I have noticed that in a carwash some water comes in through the very corners where the glass meets the tailgate. Has anyone ever replaced the rubber gaskets and if so can you point me to a place to find them? Thanks
I never had that problem with my '96. If it were older, I'd suggest LMC or J.C. Whitney. Ford will still support the '96 and you may be able to order seals there. I'd float this on BigBroncos.com and see what you get. Are you certain that your tailgate is fully latched? I did have one instance where I didn't have the lugs fully latched and had the window up. Leaked right at the glass/tailgate juncture on each side. To repair, closed tailgate tightly. No recurrence.
Thanks MinnManBroncoFan. I ordered some weatherstripping ends from the site. I will keep you posted if they do the trick. Great site for parts, thanks for the tip.
Did mine about 2 months ago. Got all of the parts (end caps, inside and outside belts) from the Broncograveyard. Took all of about 30 minutes. Not only does it not leak anymore, it also looks better too!
I own an "82 Bronco, which I am very fond of. I bought it a few years ago, really cheap. This past summer I replaced the exterior rubber, including tailgate window gasket. I bought it from JCWhitney it was very cheap, and very easy to install. Hope this helps and good luck.
