2003 6.L , 3:73 gears, Torqshift tranny, combined city/highway, a consistent 16.2 mpg. I have no lie-a-meter. Hand calulations only. Stock truck of course. , EJ
I drive 200 miles back and forth to work a week and average 15-17 mpg @ 65-70 mph. We made a trip to Charlotte a few days ago and got 18mpg out of it @ 65-80 mph a few times which surprises me. We have a '03 F250 PSD 4x4, Auto, with a 3.73 rearend. Sometimes it's really hard for me to keep my foot out of it especially when there's a Dodge in the other lane. Hope this helps........
MPG = 15.49 (hand), 15.86 (overhead)...Overall average 75% Hwy, 25% City
Auto or Manual = Auto
Differential size = 3.73
Truck model = F-250, Crew Cab, 6.0, KR
4x4 or 4x2 = 4x4
Speed = 0 to 80
Mileage = 21,000
Number of fill ups = 63 in 12 months, 22 gal per fill up (average)
Fuel cost for 2004 = $2,266
Oil = Delvac 1 5-40 (since first oil change @ 3000 miles)
Mods = Camper shell, 285 Revo tires (mpg adjusted for the slightly bigger tires), and Oil Guard by-pass filter
I think the mileage sucks, but got to much invested to stop now.
04 F250 Crew Cab, short bed, Fx4, 6.0 PSD, Auto Trans, 3.73 gears, camper package
Bug guard on hood, Fold-A-Cover over bed, and C-Betr add on mirrors; all play with the air flow!
Weighs 7,540 lbs. with full tank of fuel
Travel Trailer: 24 ft. 6,000 lbs.
All fill-ups to the brim and hand calculated (Excel spreadsheet)
Current mileage 26,614 miles; Overall MPG: 14.41 MPG (includes solo, towing, highway, city) Lowest recorded trip MPG: 9.26 pulling Travel Trailer +75 MPH
Typical trip MPG pulling TT at 70-75 MPH is 12-13 MPG
Highest recorded trip MPG: 17.39 solo truck at 70 MPH
Based on Lie-O-Meter (which I reset every fill) the truck would do 18 MPG at 70 MPH; however, the above trip dropped because of side trip off of interstate on hilly state road. I don't have any normal 70 MPH long trips at less than 17 MPG.
Wind can effect quite a bit.
Trip from OKC to Joplin at 75 MPH got 17.02 MPG even with side trip to Branson; probably would have been closer to 17.5 w/o side trip to Branson; no wind.
Return trip back couple of days later; filled up in Joplin, drove straight to OKC and filled back up on Interstate; head wind all the way; I'm running legal 75 MPH on turnpike; I got 15.24 MPG.
13 combined mpg, ' 04,F-350, DRW, 4:10, 4x4, longbed with cap. NOT impressed with mileage but it has a lot more snot at stock than my ' 97 had. My 97 with a 7.3 would get 18 -20 on highway, 13.5 towing 11k tag trailer. Like the 6.0 .
average about 16 w/ mixed driving seems to get best at 60 mph or less, also longer trips seem to bring out better mpg's. Might sound good to some but im not impressed. Ive done everthing I can to get the best I can, I buy my own fuel. I use additives, dont let it idle much (even cold) and baby it when I don't want to spank someone.
'04 4x4 250 First 5k miles got 17.3 mpg. Got the last factory flash and went to 16.2 mpg. Installed Predator (65hp) and am now at 15.1 mpg. The comparison between pre Predator and post Predator isn't really fair. I've been towing a bit more lately and the quick accelleration with that program is too fun to resist. 25k miles now....crazy in love with my truck.
