15000 kilometer service

Took Ol'Blue in yesterday for 3rd inspection. All's well 'cepting for changing the drivers side seat belt (wasnt retracting all the way), replace passenger side fog lamp assembly (had water in it), repaint front panel above bumper and clear coat (clear coat was peeling off). Cant seem to find any gremlins in this truck that need chasing out. Wish the steering wheel had a better feel to it, seem's kinda cold and plasticy.
Milage is ok ....17 on hgwy......14 in town.
No vibes. at least that seem real problematic
No rear end noises
Brakes are awsome
Very very minor hesitation on stomping the gas pedal (dont do that much)
Shift is good.

All in all I am enjoying this pickup, only problem is I gotz to pay for it
Good luck y'all

Is that mileage in US gallons or Imperial gallons? The brakes do seem appreciably better than my 02.

Just checked out your gallery and your truck is pretty much like mine, except I went with the 265 tires. What rear end ratio do you have? Did you have the speedometer reset for the bigger tires?
I haven't really given this truck a good workout in snow. I usually do a lot of ice fishing, but this year we have too much snow and not enough ice in this part of the world. Where there was over three feet of ice last year at this time there is only half that this year.

My seatbelt doesnt retract either, stopped doing so at 2000 miles. also my brakes squeal like a pig, my dealer says its from the material the pads are made out of on 2004's. does anyone else have this problem?

The rear brakes on my 02 would get dirt in them and squeal badly. If haven't had any such difficulty with the 04. Check out my gallery and you will see I drive in some pretty crappy conditions.

re speedo reset

hey Dave , no I did not have the speedo reset, had a mountie time me with his radar and was spot on at 40 and 50 klicks. I think when I get up to highway speed 110kph there is a little slowing down of the clock, around 5kph. Have 3.73 read end. After the levelling kit, had to do a major re-alignment including rear wheel tracking alignment.
By the way these trucks are awsome in the white stuff. You'd have to be an imbecile to get them stuck......Later..... Peter

The problem this year on our lakes around here isn't the snow but the slush under the snow. Believe me it's not hard to get anything stuck under those conditions.
I have this week off so I will try to get out and do some ice fishing. I'll try to post some pictures, hopefully in none of which I will be stuck.

Didn't get stuck, but didn't really try. Fishing was terrible, but a nice day nevertheless. New pic in my gallery.
