Whats the deal with this stupid overhead instrument thing. It has no
fuse? at least it doesnt show it in the owners manual I looked 3 x's
& it says nothing about a fuse for it. I pulled every fuse to check, none
were bad. It hasn't worked since I've owned it, I'm only fixing it for when
I sell the truck. Anybody know what the problem might be?
Did you ever get an answer on this? Can the folder admin help? I have checked all my fuses on my 2000 F250sd to find out why my overhead console went out? can't find anything.....
Hey, the overhead console doesn't work either on my 99 f250 lariat 4x4. There is a fuse, I believe #15 on the fuse panel under the dash. i checked that one and it wasn't blown. but there is a fuse panel under the hood, which i haven't checked, but i don't think it would cover the overhead console. If you find anymore out let me know please. thanks
The fuse for the overhead console is #10, in the fuse panel under the dash on the left. This powers the microprocessor that controls the compass and outside temp functions. It must also have some other calculations since the vehicle speed sensor signal goes into it too. There is a lightblue/red that comes from the dash lights for nighttime illumination, and there are two wires for the map lights.
My over head console keeps going out to, if I hit it or take it off it will stay on until I start to drive, then it goes out, any body have any Idea how to get it to stay on?

I'm about to install one on my 99f150 lariat. I checked in the headliner for the harness(unscrewed sun visors, side trims, visor clip and Door rubbers), i shoved my hand into the space and didn't feel one. Canyou tell me if there's one there or will I have to hard wire it, also installing a gentex electrochromic rear viewmirror with compass and lights. If there isn't a harness, do you think its okay to use the compass and temp sensors to also feed console.
