You need to get yourself the train type air horns. Usually look like a pyramid of three horns. They are insainely loud and of course, cool.
I've got those electric ones on my off-road cherokee. They sound like something a european sports car would have, real high pitched and shrilly. They do get attention though. Sound nothing like semi truck horn.
my horns sound ok, better then the stock ones, and better than the plastic air horns. but they sound like a boat haha. I want real air horns that sound like a big rig, or those train horns are always a thought. but mine were real easy to install, just hook the horn wire up to the positive side of the horns and that was it. and air horns on the roof always look good
I mounted a dual horn set up out of the way up underneath the grill of my F350. I didn't like the look of the air horns up on the roof of the cab. When I first hooked them up in my garage and gave them a blast of 45 psi air, the wife, the kids, and even a couple of the neighbors came out for a look. Perfect!
The sound very loud out in front of the truck as the sound reverberates from underneath the truck but they don't sound all that loud from inside the cab.
I have another horn to hook up to the system. The only problem is finding a place to mount the two and a half foot long horn. Perhaps underneath the fender well. I may need a bigger air tank.
on my truck, the PO removed the compressor. Since the horns didn't work, and I really didn't like the way they looked on the roof, I took them off. I do plan on getting a triple horn set once the truck is back together, but I will be mounting them on the fenderwell under the hood...
