this I would like to know for sure....and how would the new ones be adjusted
by shimming the springs to make em tighter. its not an easy feat........ ull need the correct tools.
u can also make em act like a spool if u clamp the spring to the length u want and toss it in the oven on 450 for a bit, and then shim it up to near binding.
the heat treating will shorten the spring and make it VERY stiff. (this is how the city young'ins drop their hondas and s-10's)
BTW, have any of u thought about installing a spool? with our long wheel base it would be almost unnoticable

The new superdutys are setup with 25 pound toque on the cluches, My old 1992 f350 was A lot tighter. Ford properly had complaints of chatter when turning, so they lowered the presure on the cluches. Be nice if someone knew how to setup A new one, with out the chatter.
my limited slip is just exactly that....LIMITED....what a joke...the limited slips sucks and ford seems to not want to do anything about it...i have to use my esof all the time to get up the littlest grades...haha thats what i bught 4x4 for but funny thing how it doesn;t work most of the time...ford needs to address the superduty 4x4 system also..its a joke
Mine is an '03. I bought it with 28,000 on it in Oct '04 it now has 45,000 on it. It has also had the 315/75/16's on it since it had about 30 miles on it.
I knew the guy that originally bought it and he drove it from the lot to the company the put the lift and tires on it.
this 03 we have came with non L/S and i put in a factory one. The two trucks we just bought down south we r going to bring back up here to use. I hope to be on my way soon to get the frist one and drive it back up here.
