As a new member I want to say high to everyone and I've enjoy the topics.
I have a 97 F250 HD with 7.3 and 5 speed manual transmisson.
Today I replaced the clutch bushing mentioned in many articles on this forum. Sure enough it was wore down to just about nothing. However while I was at the dealership I asked about the bushing between the clutch arm and slave piston rod. He looked at me like I was nuts. I told him that there is a white nylon/plastic piece that is between the rod and the arm. He could not find it in his parts catalog. He then went and got a slave piston assy out of his stock.
Sure enough there was the "bushing" I saw on my truck. I looked like a restraint device to hold the piston in the cylinder before it is installed. I ask if that was sold serately and he said it wasn't.
Is there suppose to be something between the slave piston rod and the clutch arm that is coming out of the transmisson? Or is it supose to be metal on metal?
I actually did order the final fix and received it literally hours after I install the nylon bushing. The instructions are a little more involved, wilth cutting and modifying, than I had anticipated.
I would still be interest in obtaining the bushing used at the clutch arm. Mine has seen better days.
