Powerstroke Problems ?

Hello to all,
I am in the market for a new truck (new to me) and I am looking for info on Powerstroke diesel crew cabs. I have heard from a friend that there have been some trans/convertor/flexplate problems with these. Is this so?
I have another buddy that has a 95 Ford Diesel and it just seems to run. Only has about 125000 miles and those are mostly highway towing a race car.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Wish I could buy a new one, but it is not in the cards.

Try posting this in one of the diesel forums. They could probably help you better.

I have a 03 6.0 crewcab longbed 4x4 auto. I love this truck. After the 100,000 mile warranty was up I installed a bullydog rapidflow air intake system which added about 25 hp to the rear wheels and then I PURCHASED the tripledog downloader and programed the truck. in the extreme mode 1047hp to the rear wheels. in the performance mode I have great power and economy. I pull large trailers and I work my truck but not abuse it. It is the LARIAT LIMITED EDITION with gooseneck and fifthwheel hookup and added airbag rear suspenion with air guage and control in cab.

I can say this the 6.0 is a powerfull RED HEADED STEP CHILD it can go good or bad. Don't get me wrong I love my truck, but there is alot involved with this motor. IT WILL SMOKE A 7.3 and many others as long as you rub it the right way. PM FILTERS,OIL AND FUEL,COOLANT FILTER. It takes some power to get a 8000 lb. truck to run like a 6.0.6.0 If you get one YOU FOUND THE RIGHT PLACE!!!! Folk's here take care of each other. Just wish we could all get together to put names with faces and have a beer! DON"T BE SCARED ( JUST GET A OASIS ) before you BUY!!!

we have a first for us in the shop now. a 6.0 with a broken crank. I have seen maybe 6 or so broken flexplates. not very common. the one we have with a broken crank was most likly casued by the driver ignoring the loud banking poping sound it was making when the flexplate broke.
