Overide light issues!

I own a 1997 Ford F150 And every so often when i take long trips the overide off button on the shifter starts to flash! The transmission shifts perfectly and the override button still works......what does this mean

I've been told that when the overDRIVE light flashes, it indicates an error. Have your OBD computer scanned for codes. It could be a sign of pending transmission problems.

The flashing od light indicates that something has malfunctioned, everything might still shift fine but I would take it to a transmission shop and have them read the codes for you.
