Wink

Oh, much better Lardman, thought that seemed high.
On the plastic, the stuff they use 'synthetic leather' is more like cheap couches, or 90% of the 'leather' used in modern car seats. Everything but what you sit on. Still not the best.

Hey, SoConSick, no SoCal jokes. Us inhabitants don't have a sense of humor about it. Sorta like a leprosy joke to a leper...

From here in the leper colony of SoCal

Chris, nothing against Socal, just want to represent SoFla...Ft. Lauderdale to be exact. All love here. I was looking at your gallery, how do you get the cell phone holder like that? I'd like to do the same, wondering what your secret was.

Just kidding of course, SoConSick, I love Florida, especially Hanna Park in Jacksonville. Love Pennsacola too. Haven't traveled much of the rest of your state, fraid of gators, I guess... Wife want's to drive the Keys, next year, so will get to see more of the rest of the other orange juice state.

Back to Ford F-150's. The holder was no work at all, I popped out the coin holder that they use to fill the 4x4 switch hole for us poor 2x4 drivers. Using a spare belt mount I drilled a hole in the coin holder and mounted the belt clip with a black allen head bolt. It looks good when your in the truck, better than the picture shows. It looks best with the phone in it. When the phone is out, it's semi transparent smoked gray plastic. It has a hole at the bottom for the charger to go into, so I can just charge while driving, without the phone bounceing around the cup holder, and when it viberates or rings, it's easy to hear even over the (usually too loud) stereo.

Main problems with the cell install is 1. with the shifter in drive, you can't read the faceplate on the phone, OD switch is between me and it. and 2. I sometimes like to blow heat out of my vent positions, and the phone gets hit with the warm air unless I point the vent a different way, or rotate the clip. The clip is designed to rotate 90 degrees each way. Looks faintly weird sideways, but it's only that way a few times a month.
The good point is that it's high enough to get an incomeing signal, and low enough that if I forget to put up my sunscreen, it's below the sun impact.
Well, have a great night,
Chris

removing headrest

FYI-cleaning the truck today, I remembered someone souldn't figure out how to get their headrest off. On the right-hand post base there is a small tab you have to push in in order to lower the headrest. The same feature is on the left hand post base, except you can't see it. It is in set on the outboard side of my passenger headrest and you just push your finger nail in it an it will release.

Hi aquaman2001, Can you post pictures? How do they fit around the center seat, assuming that you have the 40-20-40. How about the headrests, and the seatbelt on top of the seat?
I'm looking pretty hard right now, so thanks for any input.

Hey Chris,

Check out my gallery. I just posted a pic of the cover. Ignore the EXCEED as I had the covers personalized with my company name. Anyway, they fit like a glove.

Thanks aquaman2001. They do look nice.
My seat belts and center seat are the problem. Lucky for you, you don't have to deal with either. How do they feel? Like leather, like vinyl or ?.

If you want them "Cheap and Ugly" I've got the Cabela Universal fit front/back for 60.00. They're very "industrial" and all about function. Just unbuckle and toss them in the wash. Pics are in my gallery

They feel like a good quality wetsuit. Not like leather or vinyl. I have my own wetsuit company so I know a bit about it; its called EXCEED wetsuits. The material that you sit on is a soft nylon which is bonded to the neoprene. WetOkole also added some padding to where your body touches to give a bit more comfort. I personally think they are comfortable and you do not slide around like you do with leather. I have the SCREW Lariat so I have leather seats. I thought I was going to feel bad about covering the leather but I do not regret it.

Thanks Aquaman2001. Good info, but I think I know less than before.
I gotta find someone here in Southern Calif who has them so I can check them out. I want something that looks good, on all three front seats and over the seat belts. But comfort is imporatant too.

(I last had a wet suit on in 1974, bet they are a lot better now. That one was clammy, constricting, and smelled bad. I'm sure yours are nothing like that. Maybe I'll stop by a surf and dive shop and sit on their wet suits... )
