Every1 here has probably heard about the rotors being too soft for the brake pads leaving the rotors all warped.
I have heard that Ford has now come out w/ a new harder rotor for the hard brake pads on the F150.
Has any1 taken their truck back and gotten the dealer to replace the old rotors w/ the new ones under wauranty? Or is that even possible? Because if I do get them resurfaced all they will do is just warp again.
They resurfaced mine first. That lasted about 1200 miles before they were shaking the steering wheel all over the place. Then they replaced with the updated rotors. From what I know they have to try to resuface if there is enogh metal to before Ford will pay for the cost of replacement. Some have got new pads too but the rotor switch fixed mine right up.
About These New Rotors, My Steering Wheel Does Not Shake But I Do Get A Growling/grinding Noise W/ Some Vibration From My Front Brakes After They Are Warm. Is This A Problem W/ The Rotors.

So did they replace them w/ the new ones for free? And the resurfacing did they charge you for that or was that free also?
I don't have a problem with the shimmy from the rotors but I do have groves in them. I only have 6000 miles. Is this normal? It's at the dealer right now getting a small leak fix that is being caused from the third break light. I mentioned it to them. I hope they replace them for me.
Let's see, steering wheel shimmy and vibration. Took truck in, they machined the rotors. That lasted about 1200 miles. Took the truck in again, still had vibration and steering wheel shake was back. This time they replaced rotors with the new "magic" batch of rotors. Put truck on high speed balancer, could not Road Force balance tires. Tech said that was source of vibration. They replaced all four tires. 5500 miles later steering wheel shimmy back, really bad......yesterday just got the truck back with the third set of front rotors now installed!!!!!I hope Ford has alot of these great new rotors in stock.
Vibartion never went away, tires sure look good though.
