Airaid Intake

Well I am new here and have a 2004 FX4 Supercab 4x4. Absolutely love this truck. The truck has an Airaid Intake and sounds awesome when I get on the gas. The question I have is when I get on the gas I feel a rumble going through the gas pedal that goes away when pretty quick. Is this something with the Airaid Intake?

I should say it kind of vibrates the gas pedal is more like it when I get on the gas and goes away as the intake starts to "howl".

Welcome to FTE. Stupid question, but did you notice it before the install? Do you have the stock intake still? If so, I say reinstall, and see. These new throttle by sensor systems are much more sophistocated, so with the new amounts of air being ingested, the computer could be trying to compensate. Have you noticed any adverse effects from this rumble?

Actually I had purchased the truck with the intake installed already. the truck had 4000 miles on it and was about 11 months old so it was hardly driven throughout last year. I have not noticed any effects from the vibration. I thought by chance it was from the intake tube itself and the air rushing through the tube but I am just learning about these things as I go. Looking forward to future mods but was just curious on this one. I will compare it to my dads K&N and give hs a test drive to see what it feels like on his truck. I will force myself to drive his "CHEVY"..lol

I also have the airaid on my 05 with the 5.4, and yes it does have some vib's
(air turbulance) when I "mash the gas" It is more noticable when you tow also. I removed this airaid from my old 04 (Lemon buy back) which also had these vib's (but worse) If you look at a stock air cleaner assembly, you will see all kinds of (air silencers) on the intake. I have learned to live with mine, ane even grown to like the sound. The airaid cleans up the engine bay, but I can't say that it increses fuel milage. My average is only 12.6 and gets worse when I tow.
btw: I also have the magnaflow catback exhaust. And I do drive conservative (at least I think so)

Thanks fomocojoe101. You pretty much hit the nail on the head with your description. I checked it out tonite by tapping the intake and listening for a rattle. The only thing was under the filter itself the metal pan vibrates a little but if you hold it and tap the intake the sound goes away. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but I will check it out closely this weekend. I am averaging about 15 mpg as of tha last few times I checked it. 15.5 being the highest.

Thanks again
