Does anyone know what years are interchangeable with a 1990 F350?
Mine are very tired. My brother in law bought some for his 97 F 250 HD, and changed his mind. I was just wondering if they would fit my truck. Mine look longer, but as I said they are tired, with very little arch left.
Same length, same width. They'll bolt right up. Just the springs, I mean. You may have to modify other stuff to get them to 'work' depending on how much lift you'll get out of them. You are correct in the 'less arch looks longer' comment. The other ones will lengthen as they flatten out when loaded.
Is your truck a diesel? If so and his is a gasser...that's a no go. Diesel powered F-series trucks have extra leafs added to carry the frontend because the diesels are heavier. Now if his is a diesel and yours is gas, and they are the right length, width, and the center bolt it is in the correct location, I'd say go for it. You could expect to gain a couple inches of lift from diesel front springs. I don't really know for sure but I'm sure you can answer alot of your own questions if you take a few measurements.
Also keep in mind that these trucks came from the factory with essentially FLAT front leaves for ride quality. What I would do is go get a new set, but with 5-6 thin leaves, as opposed to the factory 2 or 3, but re-arched. LOTS better ride.
I am in a similar predicament. I am doing the D60 SAS to my F250HD, and my stock springs are dead. I don't want tons of lift, just around 4 inches or so. I also thinking of doing the shackle reversal for the front. That means stock height springs. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a source for these? I would hate to put OEM Ford springs back in there only to have them sag again.
