Emissions Schematic Diagram
Hello,
I have a 1986 Ford F250 4x4 with a 351W, C6 auto.
I took my truck in to get a new carburator installed.
To make a long story short, it seems that the first
place destroyed my emissions. According to the second
shop, "It looks like they just got a knife and cut all
the hoses off." Now I am illegal come inspection time.
They said that they could repair it, but they are unable
to get a copy of the emissions schematic for my truck.
My truck has dual air pumps and is a legal non-catalytic
engine. If anyone knows where I can get a copy of the
schematic for my truck. Pictures of the same type engine
may also be helpful. I just bought this truck and am
trying to restore it to perfect working condition. I
called Ford and they gave me the number to Helms Publishing,
but they are out of stock and don't know when they will
have any. Do their books have emissions schematics?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have emissions diagrams from 77-78-79-80.
I know the Haynes Manual has something in them regarding emissions.
Just look before you buy it.
I know Chiltons has Vacuum diagrams for Cars of that vintage .
IMHO ,That they wouldn't be that different.

Emissions Schematic Diagram
Most mechanics these days should have your schematic on file on a computer. You might want to shop around for a mechanic that has yours on file. I'll talk with mine tomorrow and if he isn't real busy, maybe he can make me a quick copy of a vacuum schematic off his program.

Thanks, that would be greatly appreciated. I would have
thought that they would have them also, but I guess not.
I had such a bad experience with the first shop (they had
my truck for about 2 months and were unable to get it running),
and the second shop did so well (had it running great in
about 1 1/2 weeks, during the holidays). I would love to
give them my business if possible. It is so hard to find
a mechanic that you feel comfortable with. Again thanks
for your help.

Emissions Schematic Diagram
There are 4 possible Emissions diagrams for your truck, depending on GVW & engine Calibration Code.
I uploaded the images to our website. Each image is labeled, so you can figure out which one is correct for your application. Please note that the images are Copyright 2002 Alldata LLC and are USED WITH PERMISSION.
