Quick trans Q??? C6 vs AOD
Are all C6s 3 speeds, and or are all AODs 3 speeds and overdrive?
Thanks for your input,
I want to change the filter and oil in my trans and I have to figure out which I have. It may still be the original '85 trans in it.

yes the C6 is a 3 speed and the AOD has overdrive thats what the OD means, If the tranny is stock then the code on the doortag should tell you. If not there should be a tag on the tranny itself that will tell you.

Unfortunaly the body was repainted and there is no sign of the door tag, plus there were no tags on the tranny that I could find, just a large number 64 cast into the scatter shield, just in front of the trans oil pan seal.

AOD pan also says metric on it.

I just came to an evil realization that if I were to borrow some truck parts I could start a killer drag/track mustang project car. 351 power, c6 trans, and 9" rear. All the racers standard gear!
