wont start???help
about a week ago my 88 f150 (300 inline 6) wouldnt start so i changed the fuel pump relay switch it started and ran just fine then on the way home it started to sputter and the amp gauge dropped too almost 8 the next morning my battery was dead i changed battery and now my fuel pump wont come back on when you bypass the relay it comes on i have changed the relay again but the battery still goes dead any help would be great maybe a short anything

sure sounds like an alternator went bad. How long after you put the battery in did it go dead. Was you just running the engine or did you have everything on. If the alternator is putting out minimal amps it wouldn't take long for the batttery to go dead with everything on. vSome autoparts stores can check the output for you. Call around and see if a local autoparts store can help.

my battery is great my alt is like 6 months old but it maybe bad. but would that make the fuel pump not come on before i crank it???if u bypass the relay the truck will start but i am afraid that i have i short somwhere?????
