Anyone Paint Their Grille?????
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone on here has painted their front grille. I have a blacked out F-350 and wanted to paint my grille to match the rest----like the factory blacked out grilles. I have a chrome one----I have bought a new charcoal gray paintable one off the XL series trucks----if someone could provide steps to paint this myself I would appreciate it....I know sand it----prep--paint-----just a little more detail from experienced persons would be great.

I just did mine last week.Rub it down with a scotchbrite pad, wipe it down with some paint thinner and let it completely dry. If you are using a paint made for bonding with the plastic just paint it up. Mine was a basecoat clear coat and I had it mixed up in a spray can. I had to use this stuff call bulldog. Its a primer and makes the paint stick to the plastic. Then after its painted and dry spray some clear coat on it.

Do you want to sell that chrome one? I have a used Excursion that was doen monochromatic by the original owner....bumpers, mirrors, grill..everything but the glass is painted metalic green. I want a chrom grill! I have a stainless lund bug guard, a chrome grill with a stainless insert would look killer on my Ex!

PS- My excursion is at stock height now. This is a picture of the Ex before I bought it. The guy who had it took the 23" lift and 44" tires off as well as the hood and 2002 headlights. I have it with V code springs, stock rims and 285-75 tires, stock hood and stock 2000 headlights. He was nuts! This excursion was HUGE! I need a chrome grill!
