Does anyone know of a good concrete cleaner to clean up a garage floor with? I want to try and clean mine up some. You know...get some of the oil spots and grime out. I know it'll never look new again but I'm tired of it looking like a grease pit.
Please don't pull out in front of me! I can't afford to play "What's this?" with you or your car.
My favorite is similar to Greywolf's. I use about a cup of Tide to a gallon of hot water. Scrub that into the floor, let sit for awhile. (long enough to consume one of your favorite beverages.) Then spray off. It even removed (most) of the 20 year old used gear lube I spilled.
Castrol Degreaser(purple bottle) keeps my engine compartment, garage floor and driveway oil free and is biodegradable when following the directions on the bottle. It calls for adding water. It's similar to Simple Green, but less expensive and available most everywhere.
Any of the detergents and water mentioned above, plus pour on some Clorox bleach. Scrub well with a broom with short stiff bristles. Let it sit, then hose off. Repeat as necessary.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-Dec-01 AT 11:12 AM (EST)]well the way I clean mine isn't exactly politically correct but it works great is i use kerosene and a good stiff scrub brush then a biodegradable degreaser to emulsify the kerosene OH YA DON'T SMOKE WHILE DOING THIS it gets kinda exciting when you do that.
Or you can go out and get a couple cans of oven cleaner and let it sit alittle bit it works okay also
Castrol makes a product called Super Clean. I think someone mentioned it earlier but didn't put a name to it. The only thing is if you use it straight then avoid getting it on paint. If you use the hand held spray bottle its dilutted, in the gallon or bigger jugs its straight solvent. Get the floor wet, then spray it on let it soak for 10-15 minutes then if it needs it scrub. This stuff works great, I used to use it at my old shop to clean the floor.
