Hey guys, got a couple of questions. My dad and I are going to split a big truck for my fence company and his landscape side jobs. We're getting a 14' stakebody dump. I'm wondering if there are any difference in maintainence costs between the two, other than tags? What about gas( diesel actually) mileage, 4x2? Is it very different between the 4.30s and 4.88s? any other advice or opinions on the two. I'm leaning towards the F550 with upgraded GVW. A lot more truck, and not much more of a monthly payment.

Thanks in advance guys.
Both are work horses. Upgrading to 550 is never abad thing except for $. Both ride like poodle poop empty anyway empty, unless you like the skateboard ride anyway! Mileage(depending on gearing) should be 10-12 mpg. Don't expect much better. Maintaining them (provided they are the same engine-6.0) should be similar. I wanted to buy a F450 for my camper and boat, and would like to change gearing to a 4.10 or similar for long term driving. Granted they won't haul as much trailer this way, but it also doesn't kill cruising mileage for recreation purposes.
