My cat was loose at the manifold/cat connection and it appeared to be one bolt became loose. I removed/replaced that bolt but there is still a leak at that connection. Is there a gasket at that point or is it simply pipe into pipe?
Would it be ok to weld that connection to cap that leak?
BTW removal of that bolt was a battle. PB Blasted for a week straight, daily. I could get it to turn approx. a 1/4 turn but that was it. It wouldn't tighten or loosen beyond that. I used a breaker bar, grinder and finally just burned it out. I thought I won the battle until I heard and felt the leak.
I saw this stuff at the auto part store a just yesterday. Its made by Qualco it is called exhaust crack and joint sealer. It is supposed to dry to weld hard, but I have never used it. It was only $2.99. If you try it and it works let me know.
