convertible tops
I just bought a 73 mustang convertible that needs a new top on it and dont know much about what to look for to replace it,any tips of any kind would help,seems like there is so many different styles and options and brands that it would take forever to check them all out myself, THANX

I use to do upholstery professionally and used several different makes of tops. The only one that consistently fit every time was made by Robbins. They've been making tops for ages. They'll have an entry level top called 'single' something. Sorry, it's been awhile and I can't remember what it was called. If you question any upholstery shop, they'll know what your talking about. The one called 'double' something is much more durable. It is comparable to OEM tops. If you plan on selling the car in a few years, the single is fine, but I'd only go with the double if you're going to keep it.
