97 explorer overhead console

Just replaced battery but the temperature gauge ( on overhead conslee) has all the sudden got stuck on 140 degrees.I tried to reset it and also, checked fuse. Still stuck on 140....any suggestions would be appreciated.

it sounds like you have a short in the 2 wires the go from the sensor to the console or it is a bad sensor bc i put one in my 91 explorer and then the wires were togather it would read 140 and open read -40

Where might be the bad sensor located, in my explorer. Please any information would be helpful.

i belive the sensor is in the front right behinh the rh headlamp between the grill and the metel or someware in the area it has 2 wires and the wire i belive are blue it almost looks like a plug witha cap on it but it is the sensor

It's a little dfferent on the 97. The EVTM shows the sensor is beside the drivers side headlight with a dark blue/yellow & a dark blue/white wire .
