i have a 1968 f100 240/I6 motor, i have changed the carb to a 2v, and am now having major problems in the electrical dept. i changed the dizzy to a electronic iggy, out of a 81 300/I6, some time ago, it ran for a short time, but due to other problems, i had to park it, am trying to get it back on the road, and have run into problems with the motor getting fire, am at my wits end. i recently replaced the dizzy control mod. and put new plugs in(2v was not adjusted properly and old plugs were fouled) i replaced the starter selenoid today, still nothing. any information would help please
And you have checked for spark by pulling a plug wire, and sticking a screwdriver up inside the wire, holding the screwdriver close to the block while someone is cranking the engine, looking for a blue spark?
And you have looked down the carb throat with the engine off, and pushed on the throttle, and two strong streams of gas pour in every time you move the throttle.
franklin, thanks for the reply, i know its getting gas, as for the spark, i am not 100 percent positive i have fire, but my idications are yes i do, am going to be checking for certain this afternoon, its kinda hard to see the spark, while im turning the key, to far away from where i am standing, unfortunately, i have to work on it by myself 90% of the time. on another subject, im glad to see someone on here who is close to me, i live in lost city wv, just outside of broadway, so howdy neighbor.

We have had church picnics up there before.
If you have an old momentary switch lying around, you can wire yourself up a remote starting switch for testing purposes.
Take two long wires coming from the switch, and with alligator clips or whatever, hook them to terminal #3 and terminal #5 in the diagram above. MAKE SURE THE TRUCK IS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL WHEN YOU USE THIS
You don't want to get run over.
Turn the key on, and hit the test button, and it will crank over without having to be inside the truck.
dave do you have a picture of the wireing from the dizzy module to the dizzy, and to the coil, or at least a write up on color to color, it might be of some help to the situation,
maybe next time your up this way let me know, pop in and take a look at the old girl, she is quite surprising for her age
thanks dave, will let you know how it goes, but this will help me out alot, should be able to fix my problem with the information, will hollar at you soon
dave the wiring diagram worked out great, now that it starts, it doesnt want to run properly, but that is a situation for another day, to much snow on the ground to work on the girl today, well enjoy the snow, and go out and play in it, later.
