i went in this morning to the local ford to get my addive put into my sport trac. i asked them how long it would take it they said 2 hours, i was thinking it was a quick put it into the dipstick and thats it. he said no, cuz theres no dipstick, and i do have one.
the guys said they inject the additive in thru somewhere near the shift solenoid and it mixes well that way. they said the additive is to improve the shift solenoid and help out the clutch packs. i read from the previous recall post and you guys said its just for reserve engagement harshness.
is this guy full of ****? and he always said theres no pure synthetic yet for mercon V like the truck needs. i'm wanting pure synthetic for the added heat from towing.
oh yea, when i dropped off the truck it was all dirty and little amount of mud. when i came back, the thing wa spotless and you can tell it was cleaned. i came in with another sport trac that morning and it was washed as well.
my trans made noises thats why mine was taken apart
I have a 2004 ford sport trac and it has been in the shop at least 15 times. The first time was the ride home I noticed the floor getting real hot I was told the heat sheild was not there something chewed it from underneath they replaced it.2-The brake calipers were stuck so they replaced all 4 along with rotors . when the dealer did this, a week later the master cyl needed to be changed next and told me I had to pay for the pads.3-both front windows would skip when rolled down, they looked at that at least 10 times then finally replace tracks in doors ,they seem to not skip no more but seem to go up and down alot slower, when doing this they broke my door panel and had to replace that.4-they replaced steering wheel because it wobbled and it doesn't even have tilt.5-both front seat bolster have been changed because the padding collapsed.6-the suspension on this truck/car is horrible with its sqeaks that are ear peircing at times, and was told that thats the way trucks sound, maybe a garbage truck I thought. 7-A banging noise in rear they could not find last 3 visits but last visit was told rear end had a problem and they would need 4 days to fix it.8-I forgot to mention that the very first time it was brought in they told me there was the wrong fluid in the transmission and they needed to drain it, and that it was at the factory that messed up And forgot to add something to it because it had over 1000 miles on it they said they had to rebuild it.thought that was kind of odd,But then again this is a truck that when the salesman brought it from the back of their dealership said the only white one we have is in the "grave yard" When I returned to my home I opened the hood to notice that the transmission dipstick was left on top of my engine,I GUESS YOU CAN SAY I AM LUCKY
other items replaced from ford were - headlight casing, would fog up when car was wet
2-idle sensor recall
3-front seat covers when new bolsters put in
I am hoping that maybe someone from a corporate office would read this especially because my phone calls do not get returned maybe because he is too busy making commercials ,.NOW I FOUND A CRACK IN THE BODY UNDER THE TRUCK WHERE THE BODY MEETS THE FRAME
