There is a small red pressure line leading to the wastegate actuator. Unplug the line from the actuator and plug the line onto one of the intercooler clamp bolts.
Well im pretty sure my 02 has it.Could unplugging this do any damage to the motor or turbo. Will it affect how it runs in cold wheather here in michigan.Thanks.If it wont affect anything then im unplugging the damn thing....lol
When I unplugged mine it was like night & day difference in power. But It made
my engine run hot, and it made my mileage go down, so i plugged it back up.
Disabling your wasteagate will not/should not adversely affect your engine, it will just provide a little more air, instead of being "wasted" out the wastegate. I was testing mine, and running 2500rpm in 3rd gear, with the WG hooked up I was running around 5-6psi, with it disconnected I was up to around 9psi. Not a huge difference, but any little bit helps.

How'd it make your engine run hot and mileage go down?? Sure it wasn't your heavier right foot, from the extra power?? By disabling the wastegate, in theory, it should provide more air to your engine, keeping it cooler, and provide more air with the fuel, as to not waste as much fuel.
More boost equals less heat to a point and you are NO where near that point. So your truck could only run cooler, as far as milage goes it is your driving, more boost equals more power and means you don't have to give quiet so much throttle.
I don't know why it would make it run hotter but I do KNOW that it did, it would
reach 900-1000 pre turbo easy. And I was driving it easy, no hot rodding. The
power was great, but ya know when its running 800-850 @ 70 miles an hour
with no load, somethings not right. So I plugged it back up.
Not sure whats up there!, My engine runs about 75 - 100 degrees cooler (Pre-Turbo) since I unplugged the wastgate actuator. This I have proven several times with the cruise control set on a nearby inclined road.
