COMMENTS
JIM: For being brand-new, this transmission looks good. We often see a lot of metal in new
transmissions. It's from new parts wearing in. We also often see high lead, which is marking
compound from the factory. We didn't really find any of that here, and we think your transmission is
looking good as it nears 12,000 miles. You've already changed this oil, so we think you'll find even
lower wear in the next sample. Run that one 20,000 miles before sampling, and don't change the oil at
that point. It should still be good to use. We'll let you know.

The E4OD is acting up at less than 12,000 miles after the rebuild, but the warranty was for one year and it has been almost three. It bangs in and out of overdrive when it is real hot. This oil report looks good, so it must be an electrical problem. The pan was clean and there was just a coating of iron on the magnet.
Note the low additive levels but high flash point, good base oil, weak add pack. This may be Quaker State ATF. Chervron is in there now. It took 14 quarts.

This is not a commercial recommendation or endorsement, just a very satisfied customer. I use Lucas anti-shudder additive in my E4OD. I haven't had any issues, I have had my shift points reprogrammed with the shift kit. Shift kit was about $65.00 installed by myself and a friend. Do you have an auxilary transmission cooler? That would probably help. It may not be an electrical problem, but the point in the powerband that it's shifting. Hope this helps.
Anyway, I am not a fan of Lucas products because of the oil "stabilizer" that appears to be thick oil with a tackifier additive.
Jim
