Hello Guys,
I had some problems with my A/C last summer. When changing the degree of fresh air I wanted, I was loosing A/C and started getting heat. While "playing" with the control I was able to get some fresh air back. Finaly I learned the lesson and let it the max cold all the rest of the summer.
It's winter now. So I've put the heat control to max heat and got heat... A lot of heat... Sometime toooooo much heat
I cannot make it a bit colder. I turn it left and right but nothing.
Where should I start to look ??
You might want to check the blend door and blend door motor. The blend door motor is kinda flat and square and sets on top of the heater housing behind the dash. I have also heard of things falling into the defroster duct and not allowing the doors to operate properly.
Open the glove box door, remove the contents and push the sides near the stops to allow the glove box door to drop down. You should be able to see the blend door motor on top of the housing.
I have this issue with blowing warm air shortly after I had my system recharged. I don't hear the thump when switching to a/c. I disconnected the plug to the blend door motor and heard nothing. Everything else seems to be working correctly. I could at one time hear a sound like something had fallen into my defrost vent that I don't hear now. It seems like a long way for something to travel to block the blend door. I am wondering if maybe the blend door motor is shot.
