I know a guy who has a PSD, 96 4x4 reg cab, ran hard, put up wet, looks rough, he grenaded motor #ONE due to pin hole in cylinder, he got a long block for $900, stuck it in and it runs like crap. I have not heard it, but my two buddies with PSD's have and they both think it is an injector, it runs real rough up to 1200 rpm then smoothes out, I dont realy know, haven't looked at it. BUT he is trying to sell the truck, I want the motor and tranny, tranny only has 50,000.
Wanna get engine and tranny as a combo, the guy wants 6G's for the whole truck. Not realy to worried about motor cuz I wanna do a complete rebuid on it. coatings, studs, c-rings whole works, just need to find a long block, prolly use tranny as a core for a BTS or something else real good. you guys think its worth the risk to spend a few $ and scoop it up cheap, gunna try and convince him to part it out. I am thinking $1200 for the combo. input please.
What do you guys think they are worth.
almost sounds like it has a lube oil pressure problem, when my truck broke a couple push tubes it did the same thing. still didnt have the top end power like normal. if its got a lifter out of the bore its gonna be letting oil pass there and not keep pressure on the other lifters to get the valves to open completely.
could still be an injector issue, usually injector will be even worse at higher rpms also
