I have a very specific question to ask. Can I change the computer from my truck(2000) to one of the newer PSD computers. My truck is rated at 230HP where the newer PSD's were 275HP(I think) Mine has the 6speed. So, would there be a problem if I found a computer from one with the stock power increase also with the stick and put it in? Would I need other modifications? I have AFE1 and B&B exhaust. Would I need a pyrometer?
I don't profess to be a SuperDuty expert, but I don't think the extra hp in the newer trucks is because of the computer. You could always just add a chip that's rated for more hp and be done with it.
It's also easier to put a chip in it than replace the computer anyway.
Well, what made the increase in HP? I have had bad luck with computers, and heard stories, so this seems the safest way without something aftermarket or rewiring.
