I just got a really nice 1969 ford F-100. But the day after I got it I put in a new stereo, and now it won't start. I think its the starter, because it justs clicks and wouldnt turn over. I'm not sure exactly how to check it to see if thats what it really is. I need some help. If anyone has any ideas or could tell me what you think I would apriciate it. This is my first truck and I really like it but I need it to be running, its my only transportaion, and I'm not an expert at this stuff.

if its just clicking it is probalby a battery problem. you might try jumping the car with a remote starter bc the starter could be in a flat spot where it kinda gets stuck. also tapping the starter with a hammer might free it up so that it will spin.
Actually Im not sure what the starter even looks like in this truck. I looked today and I really was confused and I have done this kind of thing before. I just wanted to make sure what the real problem was before I sent it to a mechcanic. Besides I had the battery checked and they said it was fine and it should start. I want to fix it myself so that if it happens again I can know exactly what I'm doing. Thank you though I do need the help and I will try it.
Check all the cables coming off the starter relay on the fender to make sure they are not melted or burnt. Disconnect the starter wire from the starter relay and see if power comes out of the relay when you try to start the truck. Or just stick on a new starter relay, at $8-$10 they are pretty cheap.
Like rebocardo said, check your cables....All of them. And your ground strap.
I know my truck will not start if there is a loose cable, or bad battery connection.
Sometimes I have seen the positive cable that runs from the solenoid (mounted on your fenderwell, the battery's positive goes to this), in pretty bad shape due to heat from the exhaust. It will look pretty decent on the outside, but be in bad shape on the inside.
Also you have a grounding strap that goes from the block to the firewall. It should be attached to the motor on the intake, towards the firewall.
A long time ago,I would've tested the solenoid by turning on the key and jumping the contacts with a pair of pliers. Of course this isn't the safest way....
