pilot bearing STUCK

so i have the puller, a big slide hammer, and 24 hours worth of PB penetrating lubricant working on my M5OD pilot bearing, and it will -not- come out. the actual bearing part popped right out, but the thick metal ring around it will not budge. i'm assuming this part has to come out, too, since the new one has one included. i don't have a torch to heat it up.

please help, i just found a disabled vehicle ticket in the snow next to my truck.

Don't know about the bushing, but an old trick is to fill the cavity in the crank with heavy grease, get a piece of dowel or a bolt that will just fit in the hole and smack it with a hammer. The grease works like a hydraulic press - couldn't hurt to try if nothing else comes along.

What is the ring made of? When i changed transmissions over i had the same problem, mine was made out of brass...i took a Die Grinder with an expensive bit on it and ate threw it like warm butter. If you do this, make sure you dont hit the block...just get it close enough so it releases the pressure and use that puller. Good Luck.
