I want to install dual exhaust similiar to the "cool Dual" exhaust you can find thru Motorhaven. I don't want to mess with the cat or downpipe. I don't race, just want the throaty sound and maybe I will buy a superchip later. Does anyone sell just a dual exhaust catback system? I would hope the price would be less than turbo back. Also, I'm worried about getting into warrenty issues and want something easy that I can return to stock in my garage should I need to goin for warrenty work. Someone posted that unless you are into speed and racing that there is no need to replace the downpipe. Welcome all comments and experience with this issue. Thanks.
just my opinion, duals are for gassers, diesels look and sound better with a big fat 5" - 6" single pipe coming out the back, gives it more of a throaty big semi sound. duals almost sound like the motor is choking.
Duals don't do much for performance on a Diesel. AFter all, its going through 1 downpipe. That being said, I like the look. Duals out the back with big 6" tips looks insane. Sounds good too.
MBRP makes a dual Cat Back system.. it is called "cool duals" and I beleive is available from Motorhaven but like the others said there is no benifit to it, just costs more. I have a MBRP single cat back system on my truck. It sounds ok but not much different then stock, Wish it was a little louder. My preditor gives me a bigger smile then the exhaust does...
This is my first diesel. I owned an 1977 F250 Ranger XLT for 25 plus years. My baby. Sold it for more than I paid for it new. It had a built motor with dual exhaust and the rumble was awesome. I guess I just can't get the idea that duals are cool looking out of my head. Frankly, all I really want is a louder rumble. I will be buying a chip and from what I gather from the forums is that I can run a chip without exhaust mods as long as I don't go to the racetrack ( which I would never do anyway). Cat back and a chip seems like the way to go ?
