the c6 wasnt offered after 89 . might want to double check that unless it was swapped in by someone. what does the shift select read? c6 P R N D 2 1. E4OD P R N D 2 1, With od being on the end of shifter

3 speed in '96, my 90 351 bronco had 4 speeds
3 on the indicator but 4 speeds
that tranny sucked, would have kept it if tranny was any good

Arrow '94 Bronco Transmission

The '94 Bronco should have an E4OD automatic transmission with the shift pattern that Kemicalburns listed, the D is in a circle and will operate with overdrive capability until the button to lock over drive out is pushed. When driving have you counted the shift sequence? It is possible that your indicator light is out and overdrive is locked out. It is also possible that the transmission was changed to a C6 and the indicator on the shifter was not. I am not sure if the shift lever position indicator sensor would read properly or not in this case. If the transmission is working as advertised, enjoy the truck and go ahead with your project. Take some time to read the suspension forum for tips and things that go wrong like driveshaft angles or incorrect length and other issues. Your project has been done hundreds of times successfully and your story should be o different. Good luck.

You can identify your auto trans by counting the bolts around the pan: the C6 has 17, the E4OD has 20, the AOD, AODE and 4R70/W have 14.
