I spoke with my mechanic to verify the emmissions status of my
'77 F-150 4x4. He confirmed that it was exempt, which was what was on the valve cover. For '77 any vehicle above 6000 GVRW was exempt from emmission equipment. My question is that if I swap out the 300 six for a 351 will I still retain that exemption status? The 351 was availible for this truck, obviously the 351M. What if I wanted a 351W or even a 351C? They were not availible, but are the same displacement. Was the 351M offered with a 4 barrel option? If not would I be able to put on a 4bbl. and still comply with emmission standards?
I think an emmission forum would be beneficial on this site, seeing thta they are getting more **** about it
not sure but go with fi and wiring harness it will do both more power and economy less emissions, use a single 3 inch exhaust into one cat and stock muffler if your worried about emissions, this should do the trick?
if you are exempt you are exempt do what you want with the truck everyone else has once i was exempt i removed all smog stuff and put in a 428 ford fe c-6 and ford 9 inch
