I am new to the tuner/chip thing as a whole; However, I use premium gas ALL of the time.Is using prem. gas a total waste of money without the use of a tuner/chip?Would the purchase of a tuner/chip really make a noticable differance in my 97 F-150/4.6??I am open to trying new things with my truck as long as the risk factor(the domino effect of things starting to go wrong) is not too high.I don't need "dyno" power.I would like to feel a little "G" force when I get into the pedal. Thank you.I hope that my ignorance in this matter is at the very least....Laughable

Yes, you are wasting your money on premium for the most part. These vehicles are tuned for 87 octane from the factory and do not advance the timing or change the air fuel/ratio to take advantage of premium. Chips and tuners make difference, about 8-10% on horsepower. There is no risk, only downside is having to run premium whenever the premium tune is installed.
