I have posted a few answers to new folks about tranny oil coolers
There is a new crop of SuperDuty owners on the site right now and you all need to be aware that brother ford is bleeding red ink and any chance thay have to NOT do a repair they jump on it.
Untill all the problems with the 5R110 Torqueshift transmission are sorted out and you are absolutly sure yours is fixed or NOT one that needs fixing, do NOT add an after market transmission cooler.
FoMoCo is very adept at NOT allowing warranty repairs on modified components and until you are certain you do not need warrenty repair play it safe and leave the aux cooler off.
Have you looked at the aux coolers that come with the 5R110? It's HUGE! I can't see why anyone would add another cooler to these trucks. I've towed with an F550 right at 30,000 pounds combined weight up an 8% grade. It was 105F at the bottom of the grade. It took 45 minutes to climb, and the transmission never reached 200F!
