hey guys hope you can help
i have a f250 with of course a v10.. heres my problem. i just had a iginition coil replaced because the service engine light was on, and the truck was running kinda sluggish, seemed like it wanted to bog down as it was being driven.. well the dealer repaired it and it still is running bad,(no light now) even at idle it bogs down but continues to run.. escpecially bad at around 40-45 mph when rpms are fairly low(computer shows no codes)...i just bought a new set of plugs thinking that might do it, but thought i would ask the pros here first....
anyway im a body guy im "engine" stupid
thanks in advance
My first thought would be the fuel filter,or possibility of the fuel pump getting weak.I would try the fuel filter first if you haven't already. also i have seen the inj wires get a small break in them killing that cyl.
I think you're on the right track as a bad coil can lead to a fouled plug or even a clogged cat. Fuel filter is a cheap place to start and sure won't hurt anything though!
ok, i will change plugs today and go get a fuel filter to, i was also told that the cat conv. could be clogged also(good call)... i will also cut it off and see if his helps...thanks guys illl let ya know
Jesse-- I Just Got Done Fixing The Problem And It Was Interesting. I Took Out My Mass Air Flow Senor (behind Filter) And Cleaned It With Crs Air-intake Cleaner(let It Dry Befor Installing). Then I Took Off My Throttle Body And Cleaned The Heck Out Of It And The Idle Air Control Also (attached Behind) If Yea Dont Want To Take Body Off The Other Way Is To Take Air Intake Off And Spay Into Body. The Crs Air Intake Cleaner Tells U On Back How To Do. It Works Great. Can Buy At Local Parts Store (auto Zone)

George
well finally got around to working on my truck...i changed plugs, filter, went ahead and replaced cat conv. , used a top end engine(induction) cleaner (spray type)have no loose or cut ign coil wires.. still have problem.. guys im lost on this... any more ideas????
Jesse-- When the Mass AirFlow Sensor gets dirty, it will make the PCM think Different. The Sensor regulates the air flow-fuel mixer and tells the PCM how much fuel to deliver out of the injectors. I Have seen this where too much fuel is delivered or not enough fuel. My V8 was throughing codes on 2 coils misfire so i replace the coils but no fix - I cleaned the MAS and put the old coils back in and it fixed the problem
Try cleaning the Mass Air Flow Senor (behind Filter) And Cleaned It With Crs Air-intake Cleaner(let It Dry Befor Installing).
[QUOTE=jessejamz]crown man-wouldnt the top end induction cleaner i sprayed worked on cleaning the mass air flow sensor?[/QUO
Jesse my bad - all those cleaner out there are about the same. u can use that but be sure when u spray onto it keep the can far back. less the pressure on the sensor the better. spray across sideways, up&down. Let the senor air dry.
any problems get back
MAF sensor is down by the air filter- so it's doubtful that you got it cleaned when you did the top-end. Just use a cotton swab (Q-tip) and some rubbing alcohol. Be careful not to damage the sensor.
