Can someone please tell me why I should buy one of these and what they do? How hard are they to install? I am trying to convince myself to buy one. Where is the best spot to purchase oon? Thank you in advance
all you have to do is plug it in( i think under the paneling, where you would mount a trailer brake monitor) tune it to what setting you want, wait a moment and bab....you got instant power. if you do buy it, or anything for your truck, go to motorhaven.com, the have great prices and are a sponsor of this great site. by the way, if you do buy the predator.....i suggest getting guages and an exhaust, and maybe an intake if u want. if you dont have the exhaust, your EGT's will get fairly high pretty quick, but if you dont want an exhaust just yet, at least get some guages so you dont melt her
Heres a little hint, become a supporter of this site and you can get some discounts at motorhaven.com. With the mods F-250 diesel is talking about, the savings on your first order will more than pay for the $16.95 membership fee.
Now to answer your question. I bought an Evolution (don't make a predator for pre-99s) for the sole purpose of being able to read my own codes. Or, at least, that was the justification I gave my wife at the time. The code reading capabilities are, IMO, more that enough reason to get one. Power's not bad either.
Extremely easy to install, plug and play.

Or I just found out you can click on my supporter banner.
Love mine. Plug it in, let it load the performance program you choose, unplug and you've got the easiest least expensive perfomance upgrade you can find in less than five minutes. You can change it back just as easily anytime you want.
