They seem to be decent in the rocks and in the desert like conditions, but the suck in the mud from what i have seen (they don't clean to well). They are a good at tire for a lot of street use i think.
Chuckles read in JP Mag they tested a few tires and one was Pro Comp Xterrain it got 3 stars for street 3 stars for mud 3 stars for sand and 3 stars for Rocks whether or not that helps you this is their thoughts on it it. The Xterrain is a radial tire with up to 3 ply sidewall they are said to be thicker and more puncture resistant than those found on some other radial tires. We didn't gouge ours, even though we tried. The Xterrain now comes in sizes up to 40" The xterrain tires offer appealing, aggressive tread pattern that doesn't take away from the road manner's of the tire, making it a great all-around choice. if this helps you decide if you want them then get them .

my dad has a set on his EB and they royally suck in the mud. they get pretty decent mileage on the road and do alright with trails and some rock crawling but all they do in mud is absorb mud and become slicker then a snot rocket!

that is kinda what I thought. a buddy of mine had them on a TJ and like them for crawling, but I was always wondering about the mud.
My friend had a set on his Bko, 33x12.50's, THEY BLEW ****. No siping + large tread blocks + minimal void = round soap bars. He got stuck as much as I did, but my truck weighs 8000lbs, his is 6,000, and I had BFG ATs (35x12.50's).
