exhaust manifold
Hi.....I need a exhaust manifold for a 1984 f150 6 cylinder size 300 engine....Any idea on where to find a used one...My mechanic said a new one cost $500 ... He also said he might be able to fix the old one with JB Weld....Does this sound like it would work??? THanks

First, just go to a junkyard and find some EFI split exhaust mainifolds, you can get them for about $50 from any junkyard. Look for them in the '87 and up model years. Or you could go to ebay.com and type in "ford 300". They sale a couple of exhaust manifolds on there for cheap (*the origional ones) As for the JB weld comment, you need to get a new mechanic, the JBweld would burn off, a smell no one should smell.

If its just a crack, you could grind a vee groove in it and fill it in with a 7018 rod. Do a couple passes to get good penetration and I reckon that might work better than buyin a new manifold cuz you gotta take it off anyway. OR get someone you know to weld it.
