My truck '00 350 7.3l crew cab short box 4x4, burns a couple quarts of oil every 2-3 thousand miles, a lot more if I am towing my 8000 lb trailer. I have looked at my exhaust pipe and it is damn near brand new and blacker that the nights sky, but, not goey like there is unburnt oil mixed with the exhaust. I do not have any real oil leaks, but I do have a few, no puddles under the truck though, they seem minor. I looked at my fuel filter and it only has maybe 8-10 k miles on it and it is black. the fuel that I drained looked yellow and not like there was oil in it. SO, my question is, could bad o-rings be causing oil to leak around lthe injectors and be burnt up that way? I am really trying to figure out where all that oil is going. Any suggestions on where else to look would be apreciated.
